The Longline Grenache philosophy is to produce wines that reflect McLaren Vales ability to produce world class Grenache and Grenache based wines. The Albright Grenache style is fragrant pure fruit expression that highlights amazing vineyard fruit flavours and filled with savory complexity and structural tannins.
Sourced from a single dry gown bush vine vineyard on the edge of the Onkaparinga Gorge in the sub-region of Blewitt Springs. Planted in 1947 the vineyard is a mixture of classic Blewitt Springs deep grey sands over ironstone with small outcrops of shale & red clays. Hand-picked, 20% whole bunch fermentation and extended skin contact for 4 weeks prior to pressing and matured in a combination of concrete egg & seasoned old French oak puncheons for eight months.
The 2018 Albright Grenache was bottled in December 2018.
The colour is vibrant crimson red with bright red hue. Fragrant, spice laden, complex notes of charcuterie, olive tapenade and freshly picked ripe raspberries and dark cherry.
The Palate is juicy sweet fruits of raspberry and mulberry, flashes of herbs, spice with bright acidity and long fine medium bodied palate with a structural tannins providing length and interest to the wine.
Great with pickled sardines on crispy sourdough toast
