Olsson’s Sea Salt – Australian Solar Sea Salt

Naturally made Australian sea salt from Olsson’s, the oldest family-owned and operated sea salt maker in Australia.

The Olsson family has been making solar sea salt since the 1960s, using a traditional solar evaporation method that relies on sun, wind and pristine Australian seawater. There are no chemical processes involved, just natural evaporation, careful harvesting and simple preparation.

Olsson’s sea salt is produced by allowing seawater to move through large ponds, where it gradually evaporates until the salt crystallises on the floor of the pond. It is then scooped up, washed in seawater, dried and packaged.

Sourced from two of the world’s most pristine ocean regions — the Great Barrier Reef at Port Alma, QLD, and the Great Australian Bight at Whyalla, SA — this salt delivers clean, natural flavour and beautiful texture for everyday cooking.
